Secondary keywords: sperm test report
Sperm count
Count refers to the concentration or total number of sperm. Low count can be linked with hormones, varicocele, infections, fever, obesity, toxins, medicines or genetic factors.
Motility
Motility describes sperm movement. Progressive motility is important because sperm must move effectively through the female reproductive tract.
Morphology
Morphology describes sperm shape. Abnormal morphology can affect fertility potential, but it must be interpreted with the full report and clinical context.
Volume and repeat testing
Semen volume, abstinence period, collection method and recent illness can change the result. Sometimes a repeat test is needed before making major decisions.
