Low Testosterone Symptoms Every Man Should Know
Recognizing symptoms of testosterone deficiency and understanding when testing is useful.
Secondary keywords: testosterone deficiency
Symptoms
Low testosterone may cause reduced libido, fewer morning erections, fatigue, low mood, poor concentration, increased body fat, reduced muscle mass and sometimes erection difficulty.
Diagnosis
Symptoms alone are not enough. Testosterone should be tested correctly and interpreted with LH, FSH, prolactin, thyroid function, sleep, obesity, diabetes and medication history.
Treatment
Treatment may include weight loss, sleep improvement, diabetes control, treating pituitary or testicular causes, fertility-preserving hormonal therapy or TRT in selected men.
Fertility caution
Men planning pregnancy should not start testosterone casually because it can suppress sperm production.
